About the studio
We're obsessed with one broken block.
Cairn Studio is a tiny team making a single-player voxel sandbox. We believe a game is only as good as its smallest action repeated ten thousand times — so we spend our days on the feel of a single mined block.
What we believe
The loop is the product. Mine, carry, place. Everything else — day and night, water, the capture kit — is in service of making that three-verb loop feel good under your hands.
Destruction should cost; creation should be free. Breaking a block takes time and attention. Placing one is instant. That asymmetry is the whole philosophy of building in Cairn.
Say yes to creators early. We wrote the most generous broadcast license we could, while we're still small enough that it's clearly a gift and not a marketing play.
Ship small and often. Named quarterly drops, each with its own devlog and changelog, rather than one giant annual bet.
The team
A handful of people who care too much about textures at 16 pixels.

Being honest
What a small studio can — and can't — promise.
The most-broadcast sandbox games are the output of a decade-plus flywheel, platform capital, and console distribution. We can copy the shapes, not the reach. Here's where we're straight with you.
What we honestly replicate
A hand-tuned mine-and-place feel, a changelog-and-policy posture, a quarterly named-drop cadence, a one-key capture + overlay kit, a generous written broadcast license, and a four-layer monetization model in miniature.
What we don't pretend to have
A 15-year audience, a trillion views, a marketplace at scale, or platform distribution. Early metrics will look nothing like the giants' receipts — the license is a promise, not a proof. And this is a single-player game: no multiplayer, no mobs to fight, just ambient life and a world to shape.
