Every drop we've shipped, newest first — single-player and peaceful by design.

Everything we've shipped, newest first. Cairn stays single-player and peaceful by design, so you'll never see mobs to fight or servers to join in here — just more world to build in.

v0.9 — "The Quarry Drop" (2026-07)

Added

  • The Capture Kit: F2 full-resolution screenshots and a one-key .mp4 clip recorder on F9.
  • Cinematic camera (F8) — a smooth, gliding camera for fly-through shots.
  • OBS overlay: Cairn now writes a live state.json locally, plus a ready-made overlay.html browser source.

Changed

  • Retuned the 10-stage crack animation so mining progress reads more clearly at every hardness.
  • Screenshot output bumped to full window resolution.

Fixed

  • Clip recorder no longer dropped frames during fast camera motion.
  • Cinematic camera no longer clipped through thin walls.

v0.8 — "Tidewater" (2026-04)

Added

  • Water and shorelines — lakes and coasts now generate with proper edges.
  • Sand and gravel block types, including their satisfying quick-mine hardness.
  • Ambient fish drifting in the shallows.

Changed

  • Beaches now blend from sand to grass instead of stopping abruptly.
  • Water surface reflections toned down to sit better with the day/night lighting.

Fixed

  • Fixed gravel occasionally floating after the block beneath it was mined.
  • Fixed a shoreline seam that flickered at chunk borders.

v0.7 — "First Light" (2026-01)

Added

  • A full 20-minute day/night cycle.
  • Ambient music that shifts gently with the time of day.
  • Birds and fireflies that come out at their natural hours.

Changed

  • Dawn and dusk now use a smooth sky-color lerp instead of a hard swap.
  • Shadows lengthen and shorten with the sun's position.

Fixed

  • Fixed a harsh flash at the midnight-to-dawn transition.
  • Fixed ambient music occasionally overlapping itself on world load.

v0.6 — "Groundwork" (2025-10)

Added

  • Chunked infinite terrain — walk as far as you like and the world keeps generating.
  • World save and load, all stored locally on your machine.
  • The hotbar, with 1–0 selection and mouse-wheel cycling.

Changed

  • Terrain height variation smoothed out for more natural hills and valleys.
  • Block placement snapped more precisely to the grid.

Fixed

  • Fixed chunks occasionally failing to load at the edge of view distance.
  • Fixed a save-corruption bug when quitting mid-generation.
